Off-grid rural areas in East Africa often lack municipal power supply, which makes conventional grid-connected street lighting impossible. For a village road reconstruction programme, Solarzenth supplied large-quantity all-in-one solar street lights that need zero grid power and can be installed in under 30 minutes per pole.
The project covered more than 50 villages with over 2,000 units installed. Each unit combines the solar panel, lithium battery, controller and LED module in a single integrated housing, which removed the need for trenching, cabling and separate battery boxes — a decisive advantage where local civil works capacity is limited.
Local technicians were trained on site for installation and routine maintenance. After commissioning, the lighting now provides safe nighttime illumination for residents and helps extend evening commercial activity along the main village roads.
